'Tis the season when all things become new!

That will be especially true for new baby Isa when he or she finally arrives within the next few days! As Kisha and her hubby Chris, along with big sisters Haven and Shelton await the arrival of their newest family member, NY City Explorers' camp director Edwin and his assistant counselors have been braving one of Spring's less desirable arrivals: bucketsful of rain, and, as may be the case for tomorrow, perhaps even an early Spring wintry mix! How's that for irony? While yesterday's Spring Break Camp A trip to the Staten Island Zoo went off without a hitch, gloomy skies and all, and today's campers enjoyed a private indoor tour of Queens' Museum of the Moving Image thanks to the museum's educational director Maggie Glass, tomorrow's planned adventure, to the Bronx's beautiful and picturesque Wavehill may have to make way for rainy-day standby Sony Wonder Technology Labs instead! Thank goodness for all-weather Hunter boots or New Yorkers wouldn't have a leg to stand on when it comes to predicting March weather! Who could have guessed what tomorrow holds in store after a weekend that very nearly warranted a trip to the sprinklers?
We wish Bag of Tricks Babysitter Melissa's little sister a speedy recovery, as a tummy bug sent her rushing to the ER with big sis Melissa in tow. Thank goodness to sitter Prisca who saved the day by stepping in as a last-minute replacement to be Edwin's right hand, er, lady, for the day, keeping all seven campers smiling and entertained on the treks to and from Queens. With several weeks of camp now under her belt, Prisca has become a bit of a regular around these parts, and is fast becoming a camper fave, teaching the 5-10-years-olds songs, dances and games after the long camp day has made way for aftercamp fun!
