Preschool has never been so cool!

Whew! We've officially made it through one of every day of the week for the new school year at Explorers Academy Preschool! Boy are we glad to be back in session and grateful to have made it thus far unscathed by any of the natural disasters that plagued our final weeks of camp (Hurricanes, earthquakes and toddlers! Oh my!) After a Labor Day weekend that we all spent in ways as diverse as the Labor from which we rested for the day, with company co-owner and fellow parent Kisha Gandsy enjoying a BBQ on the stoop of her Bed-Stuy building and EAP family Rory, Noriko and little one Kai attending the West Indian Day Parade, last week was spent hearing tales many and varied as the students opened the year with an "All About Me" unit designed and implemented by our new Teaching Director Elisa DePalma.
As a company, NY City Explorers aims to fill any and every childcare need that city parents find thrown their way, and many of our Explorers Acaemy Preschool parents saw evidence of that last week as the first week of EAP coincided with the final week of our Summer Adventure Camp. Our award-winning camp, led by director Edwin Guzman, a familiar face to anyone in the EAP family, meets each day during the summer at our preschool before heading out on the days city-based adventure via public transportation. With an itinerary designed by Creative Director Amy Yurcan guaranteed to excite even the most jaded or experienced city-dweller, NY City Explorers Summer Adventure Camp sees the 5 through 10-years-old campers under our care to the Bronx Zoo, Sony Wonder Technology Labs, the Queens County Farm and beyond with our 5 Days/5 Boroughs edict. Yesterday's trip, led by sitter (www.nycityexplorers.com/sitting) and counselor extraordinaire Sam Pinkleton led on final camper, 7-years-old Charlie into Manhattan for a day at the Children's Museum and a storytime at Barnes and Noble before the two wished a bittersweet goodbye to summer camp for the year! Summer camp is over, but when school is out we are still in, with single-day and week-long camps planned for each and every school break. Check out the deets at www.nycityexplorers.com/camp.
