Abra-Cadabra! The magic of the season is upon us!

For many children, the holiday season is the most beloved time of the year, filled with the magic of classic claymation movies, baking with Grandma, visits from friends and colorful sparkly decorations.
At New York City Explorers, there is nothing we love more than seeing your little Explorers' faces light up with smiles and wonder. It is a natural fit, then, for our Winter calendar to overflow with events planned with capturing the magic of the season in mind. Edwin takes Poland!

A Holiday visit to his in-laws will send Edwin through the skies to Poland late this week, leaving Brittany's Butterfiles and Katiya's Caterpillars at Explorers Academy Preschool with Creative Director Amy Yurcan as space manager during Edwin's absence. First thing on Amy's to-do list for the kids? Class photos to add a personal touch to our upcoming EAP Holiday Party!
Cutie-pie Jakob, who happily shares his mom and dad with a new baby sister at home, was happy to enjoy some one-on-one time with resident "big brother" Edwin as they prepped breakfast together, buttering bagels and stirring oatmeal for all of the early arrivals. We know Edwin can't be replaced, but while he's away, for Julian, Edwin's honorary little bro' with whom he has a standing Friday afternoon sitting date, a playdate with Bag of Tricks Baby Sitter Alvino Johnson will be the next best thing. If you see the two battling it out with light sabers in the park, be sure to stop and say, "Howdy!"
The Holiday season also means a Holiday from some of our preschoolers' regularly scheduled Lango Mandarin classes. While the Explorers agree that their hardworking Mandarin teachers deserve a hard-earned vacay, they were also sad to hear that they would have to see several weeks pass without learning a new Mandarin vocab word. Thanks to our outstanding Mandarin-speaking teacher's aide Ka-Yiu, they won't have to! Ka-Yiu has agreed to join the other teacher's aides, Spanish-speaking Yamileth and French-speaking Franceline, in enriching the children's language curriculum with her own weekly language exposure enrichment class! The tots' reaction? They love learning from the adored teacher's aide so much that adorable Caterpillar Niko interrupted class more than once yesterday to bombard Ka-Yiu with kisses and hugs! Kudos to Ka-Yiu for stepping up, and kudos to NY City Explorers' Co-Owners Kisha and Keyanna for maintaining such a diverse and talented workforce!
